Neruda's love poems in Bengali
A College Street publisher since 1971 and one of the largest in Bengali, from classics to new writers.
Dey's Publishing began in 1971 with six books, according to the house, under Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, whose name appears as publisher on its books. It works from Bankim Chatterjee Street in the College Street book district of Kolkata.
It grew into one of the largest Bengali publishers, with more than 4,500 titles and about 150 new ones a year. The list runs from Rabindranath, Bankim and Saratchandra to the writers of its own time: Shakti Chattopadhyay's poems and translations from the 1970s, Narayan Sanyal's Kanta stories, Buddhadeb Guha, Syed Mustafa Siraj, Nabaneeta Dev Sen, Prabir Ghosh's Aloukik Noy, Loukik and Mahasweta Devi's collected works. Many writers published their first book here, and several of its books have won the Sahitya Akademi and Ananda awards.
It is still publishing from College Street.
