Mahua Publishers

Mahua Publishers keeps a broad Bengali list for readers of every age. For young readers there are adventure and mystery stories — among them books by Sasthipada Chattopadhyay, creator of Pandab Goenda — along with ghost stories and collections of laughs. For adults the list runs from detective fiction and social novels to essays on religion, folk faith and the Baul–Fakir tradition, the women of the Mahabharata, the Upanishads, and lives of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay and Rabindranath.

Books

Aritra Prakashani

Aritra Prakashani is a home for Bengali ghost stories and psychological thrillers — haunted bungalows, Bhoot Chaturdashi nights and an omnibus of the uncanny — alongside historical mysteries such as the disappearance of Sri Chaitanya at Puri. The list also carries social novels, a life of Phoolan Devi, and books on Sanatan Dharma and Tantra.

Charupath

Charupath publishes books that cross languages and centuries: Bengali translations of Bharatendu Harishchandra's plays and of the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea, a memoir from a marginalised community of South India, a Pali-to-Hindi Theri Apadan, and writing about Kashi — its temples, ghats and people — including a puja annual and a book of poems by a Varanasi poet.

Books

Tagore Association

Tagore Association works in batik, the old wax-resist way of dyeing cloth. Its stall carries batik-printed sarees in cotton and silk, bedsheets and wrap skirts, each worked by hand, so no two pieces come out quite alike.
