সুজন দাশগুপ্ত সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে একেনবাবুর স্রষ্টা হিসাবে জনপ্রিয় হলেও তাঁর সাহিত্যচর্চা বহু দশকের। গল্প এবং উপন্যাসের পাশাপাশিই ধাঁধা তাঁর অন্যতম চর্চার বিষয়। ধাঁধা নিয়ে একাধিক মনোগ্রাহী বইও প্রকাশিত হয়েছে তাঁর। এছাড়া ‘অবসর’ নামক সমৃদ্ধ এক ওয়েব ম্যাগাজিন সম্পাদনার কাজও তিনি করেছেন দীর্ঘদিন। ‘কৌতুকী’-তে রইল অজস্র জোকস্ বা কৌতুকী, যার বেশ কিছু এর আগে ‘অবসর’-এ প্রকাশিত। সুজনবাবুর কথায়— “জোক্স বা কৌতুকীকে সিরিয়াসলি নেওয়া অর্থহীন। কৌতুকী কতটা বাস্তব বা ‘পলিটিকালি কারেক্ট’ বিচার না করে যাঁরা নিজের রসবোধকে প্রাধান্য দিতে পারবেন, তাঁরাই এই বইয়ের মজা উপভোগ করতে পারেন।”
