অবিসংবাদী সত্যজিৎ-বিশেষজ্ঞ ওরফে দেমু-র যে নতুন বইটি বেরোল, দেমু'র নানারকম (সৃষ্টিসুখ প্রকাশন), তাতে 'বিষয় সত্যজিৎ' অধ্যায়ে তাঁকে নিয়ে একগুচ্ছ লেখা। এ ভাবেই অন্য অধ্যায়গুলিতে প্রবাদপ্রতিম বাঙালি, পালাপার্বণ, বইপত্রের বৈভব, খেলা আর খেলার টিকিট, রসনাবিলাস বা বাঙালির জীবনযাপনের বৈচিত্র নিয়ে সুস্বাদু সব লেখা দেমু-র। বাঙালির ব্যাপ্ত বিদ্যাচর্চার ধারাতেই তাঁর অফুরান ভাঁড়ার, আর সে ভাঁড়ারেরই দরজা খুলে তিনি না-জানা, স্বল্পচর্চিত যা কিছু তা মেলে ধরেন আধুনিক প্রজন্মের সামনে। মুদ্রণে পরিপাটি এ-বইয়ের পাতায় পাতায় ছবি, চোখাধাঁধানো প্রচ্ছদ দেবাশীষ দেবের। ( কলকাতার কড়চা, আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকা, ১৬ মার্চ, ২০২০ ) দেমু নামে সম্যক পরিচিত এই লেখক তন্নিষ্ঠ গবেষকের মতো খুঁজে বের করেছেন নানা বিষয়, সাধারণভাবে যেগুলি আকর্ষণীয় অথচ দুর্লভ। সত্যজিৎ রায় থেকে বিদ্যাসাগর, ভূতের নাচ, ডাকটিকিট, মাথার বালিশ, কাঁধের ঝোলাব্যাগ, শ্রীচৈতন্য, ঈদের ছবির বা জগদ্ধাত্রীর শোলার কাজের মতো আশ্চর্য সব প্রসঙ্গ এসেছে তাঁর অন্বেষণে। ( গোপী দে সরকার, এই সময় ) 'দেমু' ওরফে দেবাশিস মুখোপাধ্যায় এই বইয়ের ভূমিকায় লিখেছেন তিনি লিখতে মোটেও ভালোবাসেন না। কিন্তু তাঁকে যতটা চিনি তাতে মনে হয় তিনি লিখতে আনন্দ না পেলেও জানাতে খুব ভালোবাসেন। আর সেই ভালোবাসার মধ্যে লুকিয়ে থাকে ব্রতপালনের তৃপ্তি। ভেবে অবাক লাগে তিনি কিভাবে নানা জায়গা থেকে এত বিচিত্র তথ্যাদি খুঁজে পান। আমার মনে হয় তিনি হলেন একজন যথার্থ চারণ-লেখক। অজানা ও স্বল্প চর্চিত বিষয়ে তিনি যেন এক যথার্থ এক ঝাঁপিবাহক। আর সেই ঝাঁপির গায়ে নকশিকাঁথার অপরূপ কারুকাজ। অতীতে পত্র-পত্রিকার পৃষ্ঠায় তিনি কত চমকপ্রদ খবর আমাদের দিয়েছেন, হাল আমলে দেবাশিসদা ফেসবুকে সেই কাজ করে চলেছেন। তাঁর এইসব লেখাগুলো দুইমলাটে পাবার লোভ হতো খুব। ( কৃষ্ণজিৎ সেনগুপ্ত, ২৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি, ২০২০)
