'দস্যি মেয়ের রূপকথা' নামে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল একটি রূপকথার সংকলন। সেই সংকলনে ছিল পুণ্যলতা চক্রবর্তী, গৌরী ধর্মপাল, নবনীতা দেবসেন-এর মতো মানুষের গল্প। ছিল বাণী বসু, জয়া মিত্র, অনিতা অগ্নিহোত্রী, অনুরাধা কুন্ডা, যশোধরা রায়চৌধুরী মতো সিনিয়রদের থেকে শুরু করে রোহিণী ধর্মপাল, অনুষ্টুপ শেঠ, সঙ্গীতা দাশগুপ্ত রায়দের মতো অপেক্ষাকৃত নতুন গল্পকারদেরও লেখা। কী ছিল সেই সংকলনে? আমরা চেয়েছিলাম ছোটরা শিখুক রূপকথার গল্প মানেই সুখের সন্ধানে রাজকন্যাকে শেষমেশ বিয়ে করে ফেলতে হবে না। সে প্রশ্ন তুলতেই পারে রাজপুত্রের যোগ্যতা নিয়ে। রাণি শঠ বা রাক্ষসী হলেও বদলে যেতে পারে এক সময়। রাজপুত্রেরও শিকার ছেড়ে রান্না করতে ভালো লাগতে পারে। আমাদের চিরাচরিত প্রচলিত রূপকথার মধ্যে লিঙ্গবিদ্বেষ ও বৈষম্যের অমোঘ চিহ্নগুলো সরিয়ে রেখে আমরা চেয়েছিলাম নতুন করে রূপকথা লেখা হোক। দস্যি মেয়েদের সেই রূপকথার বই প্রকাশের পরবর্তী দেড় বছরে আমরা শত শত পাঠকের কাছে পৌঁছে দিতে পেরেছি বইটা। কচিকাঁচা পড়ুয়ারা আমাদের জানিয়েছে ওই বই তাদের প্রিয় হয়ে উঠেছে। বয়সে বড় বহু পড়ুয়াও আমাদের উৎসাহ দিয়েছেন। তাই এবার প্রকাশিত হল 'দস্যি মেয়ের রূপকথা ২'। সম্পাদনা
