জয়ন্তকুমার সাহা পেশায় একজন সরকারি আধিকারিক। সারস্বত চর্চা লেখকের ভালোলাগা ও ভালোবাসার বিষয়। তাই কলা ও বাণিজ্য শাখায় স্নাতক, অতঃপর বাংলা, ইতিহাস ও ইংরেজিতে স্নাতকোত্তর এবং সাংবাদিকতা ও জনসংযোগে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিপ্লোমা অর্জনের পর বর্তমানে তিনি দূরশিক্ষায় জনপ্রশাসন বিষয়ে স্নাতকোত্তর পর্যায়ে পাঠরত। এটি তাঁর দ্বিতীয় প্রকাশিত গ্রন্থ। গতবছর কলকাতা বইমেলায় সৃষ্টিসুখ প্রকাশনা থেকেই তাঁর প্রথম গ্রন্থ ‘ছড়া ও হাসি ছড়াও হাসি’ প্রকাশিত হয়। ইতঃপূর্বে "উদ্বোধন”, "বসুমতী" -সহ বেশ কিছু সাময়িকী এবং দৈনিক সুখবর-সহ কয়েকটি পত্রিকায় তাঁর কিছু ছড়া, কবিতা ও রম্যরচনা প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। ফর্ম হিসেবে গদ্য রচনার সাবেকি ধারার পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন ধরনের ছড়া ও রম্যরচনাই লেখকের সহজ-স্বাভাবিক বিচরণক্ষেত্র। শব্দের বিভিন্ন অর্থ ও প্রয়োগ ব্যবহার করে তার রসসমৃদ্ধ তাৎক্ষণিক দু-লাইন, চার লাইন বা অন্য নাতিদীর্ঘ রচনাগুলি সামাজিক মাধ্যমেও জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করেছে। অতি সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিসরে বুদ্ধিদীপ্ত অথচ নির্মল হাস্যরস সরবরাহে লেখকের কলম অক্লান্ত ও অনায়াস।
